Safety & Compliance Policy

ChemCab LLC (“ChemCab,” “we,” “our”) is committed to ensuring safe, compliant, and secure transportation of chemical, gas, petroleum, and hazardous samples. This Safety & Compliance Policy outlines the standards all ChemCab Contractors must follow.

1. Purpose & Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All ChemCab drivers (Contractors)

  • All deliveries completed through the ChemCab platform

  • All hazardous and non-hazardous sample handling

  • All pick-up and drop-off locations (labs, plants, refineries, client sites)

2. Regulatory Compliance

ChemCab operations adhere to:

  • DOT 49 CFR hazardous materials regulations

  • OSHA standards for chemical handling and exposure

  • EPA guidelines when applicable

  • Site-specific refinery and plant access rules

  • Industry chain-of-custody expectations

Contractors must follow all posted safety signs, instructions, and facility rules.

3. Driver Safety Requirements

Drivers must:

  • Maintain valid driver’s license and credentials

  • Wear required PPE at designated sites (safety glasses required by ChemCab)

  • Follow all speed limits and traffic laws

  • Never use drugs, alcohol, or impairing substances before or during work

  • Keep their vehicle clean, organized, and free of contaminants

  • Keep the Tookan app active and GPS tracking enabled during all jobs

  • Immediately report spills, accidents, contamination, or unsafe conditions

4. Vehicle Safety Standards

Vehicles used for ChemCab deliveries must be:

  • Legally registered and insured

  • Clean and free of debris

  • Able to safely transport chemical totes

  • Maintained with working lights, brakes, and tires

  • Free of offensive, political, or inappropriate stickers or markings

5. Sample Packaging Requirements

ChemCab requires:

  • All samples to be sealed, labeled, and packaged by the client prior to pickup

  • Secondary containment tote(s) to be used when appropriate

  • Vapor-capture materials used if needed (activated carbon pads, etc.)

  • No loose containers or unsealed items accepted

Drivers must refuse unsealed or leaking containers.

6. Chain-of-Custody Compliance

Drivers must maintain full chain-of-custody integrity:

  • Confirm identity of pickup contact

  • Verify sample labeling

  • Follow pickup and drop-off instructions exactly

  • Use Tookan to log:

    • Pickup time

    • Drop-off time

    • Photos of samples

    • Signatures (if required)

  • Never tamper with samples

  • Never open containers

  • Never leave samples unattended in public spaces

If a discrepancy exists, drivers must contact ChemCab immediately.

7. Hazardous Materials Handling

While most ChemCab deliveries involve small-volume samples, drivers must:

  • Avoid skin contact or inhalation

  • Maintain ventilation and avoid confined spaces

  • Store samples upright inside the tote

  • Avoid extreme heat (no parking in direct sun for extended times)

  • Keep chemicals away from passengers, food, or personal items

Drivers must follow all emergency procedures outlined in this policy.

8. Emergency Procedures

In the event of:

Leaking or damaged containers:

  • Stop the vehicle safely

  • Move away from the leak

  • Call ChemCab immediately

  • Do NOT touch or open containers

Accident, collision, or exposure:

  • Dial 911 if necessary

  • Notify ChemCab after emergency services

  • Take required photos for chain-of-custody continuity

Denial of site entry:

  • Contact ChemCab for next steps

  • Never enter restricted or unsafe areas without authorization

9. Professional Conduct

Drivers must:

  • Treat clients with professionalism and respect

  • Avoid loud music, inappropriate clothing, or unprofessional behavior

  • Never photograph facilities beyond sample photos

  • Never discuss client operations publicly

  • Never disclose customer locations or sample details

Violation is grounds for removal.

10. Compliance Monitoring

ChemCab may:

  • Review driver performance

  • Audit job photos and GPS logs

  • Require retraining or verification of PPE

  • Remove drivers who fail to meet compliance standards

11. Policy Violations

Any breach of this policy may result in:

  • Suspension from the platform

  • Permanent removal

  • Non-payment for disputed jobs

  • Reporting to the client or facility

  • Reporting to regulatory authorities (if required)

12. Acceptance

By performing deliveries for ChemCab, you acknowledge and agree to follow this Safety & Compliance Policy.
